Iran film to vie at two US festivals

Iranian film ‘Kupal’ is to vie at two Amercian film festivals in November.

Directed by Kazem Mollaie, the film is to be screened at the Berkeley Video & Film Festival and Portland Film Festival both in the US.

The film narrates the story of Dr. Ahmad Kupal, who is a taxidermist hunter, as he faces a challenge just before the New Year.

The main cast in 'Kupal' is Levon Haftvan and a smart dog named Sharon plays a key role in the movie.

Levon Haftvan, Nazanin Farahani, Pouria Rahimi-Sam, and Hossein Shamsabadi are among the notable cast of the series.

Founded by award winning independent filmmakers, The Berkeley Video & Film Festival was created in 1990 to provide a venue for independent film and video makers.

The festival issues awards in each category and promotes the individual filmmakers by insuring that their works receive media attention press reviews and screen presence.

Portland Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing filmmakers and audiences, and to celebrating the power of a good story. 

The festival focuses on the people, ideas, technology, skills and artistry behind filmmaking and provides both entertaining and educational opportunities to the public.
